This wonderful family home brings together minimalism, mid century design and nature. Actually, it have a tree growing inside the house - wow! Designed by architect Alessandro Sartore, located at the foot of the Pedra da Gávea Mountains in Itanhangá, a neighborhood in Rio de Janeiro, Brazil.
I posted some Brazilian houses in the past and they all share this beautiful connection to nature, although being very modern, minimalistic, using lot of concrete and modern design. It works very well, especially when the interior is warmed by skilfully selected art and wonderful retro furniture.

Mikkel Bahr with his wife Anja Fazlic Bahr, both industrial designers made some pretty renovation of this prefabricated House from 1964. There are many styles, skilfully combined, from the colorful art and chairs in living / dining area to black and white working place with a cool big bookshelf and also some rustic elements and natural tones used.

Some pretty sweet inspiration from Emma Persson Lagerberg 's and Petra Bindel shoot for Åhléns Magazine. Mix of natural wood, pastel green tones and white, set up in a beautiful old apartment with high ceilings and rich decor. Love on a first sight if you ask me.

The apartment which I found at the fantastic Fantastic Frank today, immediately reminded me of that nice, warm, homelike atmosphere of my Grandparents place. All the old stuff that looks like it was collected through the ages, lots of greens, art and pastel painted walls. Nice change from the super white, bright scandinavian apartments. What do you say?

Current owners of this old farm made some pretty good job with renovating it and furnishing. It contains lots of rustic elements skilfully combined and used with minimalist approach, which resulted into a fresh and spacious feeling of the whole interior.
