Fishing Village Modern

Tuesday, May 17

Maria and Jan Rutensköld moved from Stockholm to a new area at one of the oldest fishing villages in southern Sweden.

Their new house is fresh and modern, again - foors are black (looks like this trend is still there)  contrasting with white walls and nice pops of colors here and there. There is big String Shelving unit in one of the room - so cool, I love the string!

Townhouse in Stockholm

Another Scandinavian Real Estate Agency, another nice interior, this one is located at Karolinska in Stockholm.

Style is combination of retro with modern minimalistic white furniture. I just love the dining table area, with cool chairs and  danish modern highboard.  Workspace with Eames Alu chairs is nice very too...

Cim and Lotte´s Black & White Living

Friday, May 13

Like, like, like! This house is wonderful - as it is stated in the article, there is not many people who see it trendy to paint the freshly laid wood floors in the house black, but sometimes it is worth trying!

Black and white combination with occasional pops of bold colors works like magic here. All is accompanied by the great design pieces, like for example famous Wegners chair in the living room and also very nice danish modern rosewood chest !

Interesting thing in kitchen is that flooring  here are  remaining  floorboards from the Opera House in Copenhagen. Black Wall with white doors creatign again great contrast.

Even the bathroom is almost strictly in B&W, whit great vintage looking drawers.

I love Black and White!  What about you?

Very nice photoshoot by photographer Philip Karlberg,  styled by swedish Interior designer Nanna Lagerman.

The glass roof / wall is too cool, would be wonderful to lay in the bed and watchin the stars trough it!

MONTREAL LOFT / HISTORIC TELEGRAPH BU ILDING

Very nice space -   I love white painted bricks in the bedroom area , white wooden floors, glass wall dividing living space from bedroom and of course great mix of vintage retro furniture, especially the work area which may be the classic Kai Kristiansen wall unit!.

Also interesting is the combination of the  turqouise color on the wall in the dining area creating nice contrast with the wooden furniture.

Furniture by The Hansen Family

Wednesday, May 11

I knew the workdesk on the first image for a long time, but forgot who was the maker - until today, when I rediscovered nice website of the Hansen Family!

Their collection called "Remix"  takes inspiration from classical scandinavian midcentury furniture (and also American, as the table is slightly inspired by great table of George Nelson) with the use of nice pastel colors accenting the natural wood.

 About the Hansen Family:
"The Label was found by designer Gesa Hansen who grew up in a Scandinavian family of carpenters, designers and architects. After graduating at the Bauhaus-University and stopping at a few Design studios such as Jean Nouvel and H5 in Paris, and the NDC in Tokyo, she decided to create her own label, combining new design and family savoir-faire in the family ateliers."
