Colorful DIY Shelving made from IKEA boxes

Thursday, March 31

This is funny little idea - take some plywood IKEA "PRÄNT" boxes, paint insides with some nice pastel colors and connect them together, forming  interesting shape with paper clasps - result is cool, cheap shelving unit that can be used to store your design items, books or whatever you want.

It must be destiny, I was in paper store today and bought handfull of exactly same paprer clasps /in many colors including the same that are used inside the boxes/  before I found this :)

Douglas Coupland´s Midcentury House

Today let´s take a tour of a renovated Midcentury hose of artist and writer Douglas Coupland.

I like how the rooms in the house alternate from bright white do darker brown / gray tones, Coupland added lots of his own colorful artworks throughout the house, which added happyness and 60s playfulness to it.

You can find all of the  MCM classics here - George Nelson´s bubble lamps, Dining table &butterfly stool from Noguchi, Eames La Chaise, dining chairs, Womb chair by Eero Saarinen.

Bright & Spacious Home

Anothr scandinavian, interior, another amazing  space. The whole place was completely redesigned by removing some walls and adding supporting steel beams to make it bigger and bright - I think that the result is briliant.

The whole flat is white, only wall decorations and details adding some nice color contrasts  - like the Eames chair  in lovely lime color, and wood pieces warming it up a little ( Jacobsen´s The 7 Chairs) Everythng feels very calm, cosily and clean.

SEMI pendant collection from GUBI

Wednesday, March 30

You may saw many similar 60s pendants on ebay or flea markets everywhere, but the original one "SEMI" was designed by Claus Bonderup and Torsten Thorup in 1967 and won the industrial design competition at The Royal Danish Academy of Fine Arts, School of Architecture in Copenhagen in the same year.

Now it is aviable from GUBI, there are some nice color to choose from (my favorite probably be yellow and turqouise) and three sizes to choose from.

Colorful Retro Interior in Brussels

Jean-François is a Antiquarian and his passion for great vintage items is clearly visible in his apartment located near Cinquantenaire in Brussels.

His home serves also as a show room and I would find something for myself for sure!
On the pictures there are chairs and table by Jean Prouve, Krenit bowls, Artichoke pendant light by Poul Henningsen and many more.

Even I´m not friend of colored walls, it fits here very well and make it look
balanced.

Today, I like to show you flat of  Lotta Agaton. As you would expect from Swedish interior designer - it is just perfect! It is almost whole in the bright White palette with some black details,  accompanied by  the popping bright red. Again I would kill (almost) for a dining table like this, with Wegner´s wishbone chairs, and the fireplace - wish I have one!

Oh, by the way, it is for sale now here!
